The environment
The property is located in a protected area (on the edge of the Boschi di Carrega regional park), between farmland and the Rocca golf course, whose clubhouse is easily accessible on foot and which offers the possibility of playing to non-members.
The charming village of Sala Baganza with its typical fortress ("La Rocca") are located about 1 km from the house and offers all the necessary amenities as well as many activities in the summer.
The immediate surroundings offer numerous possibilities for walks or bike rides: the "calanchi" of Maiatico , the Boschi di Carrega , the banks of the Baganza river, etc.
Furthermore, there are many trattorias (typical restaurants) within a few kilometers as well as many producers of Parmesan, Parma ham and other local cold cuts as well as Malvasia (sparkling white wine typical of the Parma hills).
Parma and the region
The house is located not far from Parma (15 minutes by car), in Emilia-Romagna , a central region in northern Italy, proud of its gastronomy (Parmesan, Parma ham, tortelli, etc.), and rich in a long cultural history.
The city of Parma , elected European Capital of Culture in 2020, is a leading city of art offering unique monuments (Cathedral, Baptistry , Farnese Theater , ...), a renowned Opera house ( Teatro Regio ), museums with rich collections and an atmosphere still marked by the influence of Maria-Luigia of Austria , Duchess of Parma and second wife of Napoleon Bonaparte.
The location of the house makes it easy to visit many art cities located within a 1.5-2 hour drive such as Mantua , Cremona , Bologna , Verona , Milan or Florence .
The Ligurian coasts ( Cinque Terre , Porto Venere ) are only 1.5 hours away by car, which also allows for day trips to the sea.
